Toy Train Joyride

THE DARJEELING HIMALAYAN RAILWAY

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, fondly referred as the Toy Train, was built in the year 1879. It started to run successfully on tracks after two years, and even today, it passes through numerous scenic loops and bridges, passing by tiny settlements & vast tea estates. This narrow gauge railway runs on mere two feet wide tracks and starts its journey from 328 feet (NJP) and reaches to an elevation of 7,218 feet, passing through India’s highest railway station in Ghum.
